View and edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files - without needing Office installed on your computer.

Once the extension is installed, Office files that you drag into Chrome, open in Gmail, Google Drive and more will be opened in Docs, Sheets and Slides for viewing and editing.

You can save each file back to its original Office format or convert it to Docs, Sheets or Slides to unlock more features, like inviting others to edit with you, commenting, chatting and more.

WARNING Do not use this if you use Words referencing tools, this removed all hyperlinks from a University project, which would have had to be manually redone on a 30 page document if I didn't have backups. USE WITH CAUTION

I can no longer edit my files with google docs nor with my LibreOffice ive already tried uninstalling the app and restarting my chromebook absloute trash cant do my homework anymore

1. Столкнулся с такой проблемой, что при открытии моих таблиц и документов .xlsx .docx на странице docs.google.com выдаёт вместо файла выдаёт страницу с адресом about:blank#blocked. С таблицами и документами google всё нормально. 2. Так же, при попытке открыть в браузере документ word с рабочего стола выдаёт ошибку "Не удаётся открыть документ этого типа". На удивление таблицы excel открытые таким же способом исправно работают. Решить первую проблему смог только отключением расширения.

It works as a much quicker way to open .docx, .pptx, or .xlsx files than to download them, then open it in another app. It also provides an easy way to save the files into Google Drive. Although I wouldn't use it to make new documents or do large edits, it's convenient for quick changes and completing forms.
