This extension allows to find and delete duplicate bookmarks, empty folders, merge folders with the same name (within the same path), find no longer working and expired bookmarks and remove them easily.
Permissions explained:
1. Read and change your bookmarks(required on install) - required for core functions to work
2. Read and change all your data on the websites you visit(optional, not asked until you use Broken URLs checker) – to check if bookmarked page loads and doesn't return any error.

删除失效书签的功能不能用，点了删除，那些失效的书签还在
Seems to work well however I am confused why I can't find a 'select all duplicate' button. It found lots of duplicates but there doesn't seem to be an automatic way of selecting and removing all the duplicates.
Es justo lo que necesitaba, no hay otro programa como este. Me mira todos los Favoritos y mira que los enlaces sean correctos. Cuando tienes centenares de Favoritos llega un punto que no sabes si funcionan o no y no piensas en ir revisando uno por uno si los links son correctos, este Bookmarks Clean Up te lo hace por ti, es super útil.
Great extension! It worked perfectly. I even double-check the various types of results and they were always accurate. Watch for certain types of results, tho. 404 errors are fine to remove but other errors that are unknown might be because you aren't logged in to a site and its prompting for user/password. It doesn't hurt to open the link to double-check.
BACK UP YOUR BOOKMARKS FIRST! Better safe than sorry. The app warns you of this which I really appreciate it. This app is fabulous. Somehow my bookmarks got duplicated, I was able to very easily weed out the duplicates and delete the empty folders. I had over 3,000 bookmarks somehow (many were duplicates) and I was able to de-duplicate everything in about 10 minutes. I had it run a check to delete broken URL's and easily cleared a bunch of old stuff out. This app is amazing!
April 2024 - identified 386 duplicates Because of a import of bookmarks, However, it seems I would need to select every other entry, so I used a different extension. After the 386 were deleted, this found all now empty folders, and cleaned those up Nicely. Thank You
love it, super helpful for Chrome
Doesn't work in Opera (which has Chrome core and extension support). Known duplicates are not found.

Helpful for chrome, as they don't have the function. But you guys need to improve broken bookmark finder function. Just because you can't pass human test, doesn't mean the link is broken
