AI product readSecure locked-down browser environment for taking PSI online proctored exams
Enables secure, monitored online exam delivery by restricting browser capabilities (tab creation, window creation, extension enabling), capturing desktop/webcam/microphone, and providing real-time proctor communication during test sessions
User installs the extension, then launches a PSI proctored exam session. The extension activates a secure check-in flow: (1) system hardware/software check, (2) identity verification with ID photo, (3) agreements acceptance, (4) camera/microphone permission, (5) start test. During the exam, the extension locks down the browser (no new tabs/windows/extensions), streams webcam/screen to proctor, provides live chat with proctor, and supports break requests. After exam completion, the extension auto-closes.

- Target users
- Test-takers using PSI's online proctored examination platform / Candidates for professional certification exams, licensure tests, and other remotely proctored assessments
- The background worker and UI JS files are heavily minified, limiting ability to trace exact authentication flow logic
- Cannot fully determine if the OAuth2 flow authenticates the test-taker directly or uses service-to-service tokens after the user authenticates on PSI's website
- The externally_connectable localhost:50161 pattern suggests integration with a local PSI application, but the local app's role is unclear
MonetizationNo paid features detected
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases within the extension. All keyword hits for 'checkout' refer to exam completion (e.g., 'This test is completed. PSI Chrome Extension will auto-close in {{countdown}}'), not e-commerce payments. All 'pro' matches are fragments of 'proctor' terminology. No billing, Stripe, payment platform, upgrade, or premium feature references found anywhere in the source. PSI's exam scheduling is a separate business service, not gated within this extension.

- Reason
- The extension requires users to have a scheduled exam through PSI's platform. It communicates with PSI's OAuth2 authentication endpoints (hydra.bridge.psiexams.com/oauth2/auth, /oauth2/token) and auth token services (mps.bridge.psiexams.com/api/auth/token). The check-in flow includes identity verification (ID confirmation, photo match, reservation match). The extension itself has no login UI; authentication occurs on PSI's exam platform, and the extension operates as a secured proctoring environment once the exam session is initiated.
I give this system a 0. Very stressful when your about to take a test!!
Awful , the system log me out in a middle of it with no reason and took me minutes for them to fix the problem .
if i could give 0, i would. it kept kicking me out then everytime made me verify myself and show the room like 15 times. I did not even want to complete the test at that point
Kept making me show my surroundings and adjusting everything, even after showing it and implicated no issues, only then to say something needed to go, even though they could fully see me and things around me. I think they just wasted my time and pissed me off to the point where I just wanted to get it over with. The condescending undertones need to go.
I had no issues using online proctoring. Very helpful.
I could not see the questions or choose option A for answers. I had to type answer A in and could not click on the option. The proctor could not help me and had me call IT after they terminated my exam. The IT person's only option was for me to reschedule. I explained I had taken the day off work to take the exam. He just then hung up and I was left to deal with questions I could not read. So I made the best of it, read and answered the questions as best as I could and had to minimize the webcam sporadically just in order to read the entire question. I was told I could not look away from the camera, had to show my hands at all time and was told I could not read the question out loud or they would terminate my exam.
great. everyth!ng, great
Would not recommend online proctor.
Easy enough with technology. I find it silly i was told to remove my SODA bottle from my desk, as well as remove EVERYTHING from my desk (mug with pens/pencils, stapler, tape dispencer, etc) and show underneath the desk 3 times. I hate silence and always have my TV on for noise, nope, couldn't now. I was really close to turning on itunes on my phone across the room, but since you're not allowed to talk (WTH? some folks read better aloud, some talk thru problems/questions to themselves, etc) I thought that'd be a waste. And the proctor kept reminding me to 'not cover your mouth. it must be visible', because I enjoy propping my head up with an arm at times.... how is that questionable/mistaken for possibly cheating??? Seems a bit extreme to me, but beats having to go elsewhere and wait forever to get it done, I suppose...
The first person I was connected with was zero help, connected with me with tech support instead of explaining what was going on, tech support than just told me they had to hang up and I could rejoin what was wrong, when i DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. The second person I was connected with was fine, but that was an extremely stressful start to my exam and I had increased anxiety during my exam due to the stress the people caused me for 25 mins and then hanging up on me.
