AI product readSecure locked-down browser environment for taking PSI online proctored exams
Enables secure, monitored online exam delivery by restricting browser capabilities (tab creation, window creation, extension enabling), capturing desktop/webcam/microphone, and providing real-time proctor communication during test sessions
User installs the extension, then launches a PSI proctored exam session. The extension activates a secure check-in flow: (1) system hardware/software check, (2) identity verification with ID photo, (3) agreements acceptance, (4) camera/microphone permission, (5) start test. During the exam, the extension locks down the browser (no new tabs/windows/extensions), streams webcam/screen to proctor, provides live chat with proctor, and supports break requests. After exam completion, the extension auto-closes.

- Target users
- Test-takers using PSI's online proctored examination platform / Candidates for professional certification exams, licensure tests, and other remotely proctored assessments
- The background worker and UI JS files are heavily minified, limiting ability to trace exact authentication flow logic
- Cannot fully determine if the OAuth2 flow authenticates the test-taker directly or uses service-to-service tokens after the user authenticates on PSI's website
- The externally_connectable localhost:50161 pattern suggests integration with a local PSI application, but the local app's role is unclear
MonetizationNo paid features detected
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases within the extension. All keyword hits for 'checkout' refer to exam completion (e.g., 'This test is completed. PSI Chrome Extension will auto-close in {{countdown}}'), not e-commerce payments. All 'pro' matches are fragments of 'proctor' terminology. No billing, Stripe, payment platform, upgrade, or premium feature references found anywhere in the source. PSI's exam scheduling is a separate business service, not gated within this extension.

- Reason
- The extension requires users to have a scheduled exam through PSI's platform. It communicates with PSI's OAuth2 authentication endpoints (hydra.bridge.psiexams.com/oauth2/auth, /oauth2/token) and auth token services (mps.bridge.psiexams.com/api/auth/token). The check-in flow includes identity verification (ID confirmation, photo match, reservation match). The extension itself has no login UI; authentication occurs on PSI's exam platform, and the extension operates as a secured proctoring environment once the exam session is initiated.
I had a horrible experience. My proctor left halfway through my exam and never returned so I was not sure if I was allowed to continue. I had to reconnect somehow and they were not helpful at all. They repeated my questions several times and were not helpful at all.
very professional and easy to use. My proctor was very polite
Absolutely terrible service. Whoever is proctoring these tests, get off your high horse. These people tried to kick me out of my exam because someone walked in during my exam, completely out of my control. And also because my camera was "too blurry" when you can clearly see my face. Completely unreasonable people. You monitor exams for a living, you're not curing cancer. If you can take an exam in person, do that instead of using this joke of a company.
a hour and a half into my test, around question 70. the screen went white and said error......... then went to the psi home page..... i was able to find a number on google to call, and they don't know what happened and cant resolve it so, i must wait 2-5 business days for them to figure out if it was their systems fault. if it was they will pay for a whole new test if not then i must pay..... agian
really really bas system im really confused even the ask my bracelets off and asked was they part of any religious beliefs that right there was doing way too much. They keep asking to see my room and couldn't even read out loud to myself even though i was in my own room. They wanted to see everything in my room i didn't even start my test till 7
If I could give no stars I would. I was attempting to take an exam for NHA, PSI was proctoring the exam. What a joke. I scheduled for an exam to be proctored. When I received my confirmation email it stated that I had an exam at 3am in the morning? what? that wasnt even an option for testing. I called back into PSI to figure out what happened; they goofed up. Now I had to wait an additional 6 days to take the exam as there was nothing available. The day of the exam (today) I started 15 minutes before my exam to do the drivers license and the make sure everything was ready to go. After hitting the launch button the program wanted me to add an extension so PSI could connect. Why wasn't that done during the compatibility test? it adds anxiety to the situation. After that was done I had no way to connect back with the test; called technical support. Tech support tells me that it may take 30 minutes to correct the issue which puts me past the time frame to start my exam. Great, lets just try I tell them. We barely made the deadline when I was connected to the proctor. Appears as if the proctors are handling several people at once as this person was slow to respond if i verbally asked a question or even typed in the chat box. We breezed through the drivers license part, the issue was the proctor was nit picking me to death on what was around my testing area. If they could see any paperwork around me they pointed it out one by one vs saying remove all paper within 3 feet of you. This proctor was concerned about products that were 3 feet to my left or right and would have to swivel my head to look at the pile. If that was the case then the proctor would have seen me rotate my head to line up with my shoulder which at that point it would have been very obvious. Next they wanted the razor on my desk removed, then it was a bottle of screen cleaner. One item by one item this person picked everything apart. I verbally said why cant you just tell me everything that needs to be removed so we can proceed. This proctor would not respond unless they typed in the chat. I stated I know you can respond verbally, if I do something wrong during the test you will speak out and reprimand me during the test, why are you doing this? I had two pieces of plain paper, had to show them twice the papers. Then I had to pick up my desktop one last time to show them the contents of my test. Might I add I have a desktop with a camera at the top. I had two cameras attached when I first called in tech support. I was told to disconnect the one attached via cord. I had this as a precaution measure so they could see me from all angle and they wouldnt stop my test if they couldnt see something. Now the proctor tells me I didnt show her under my desk. Hello? you never asked me. I inform them I dont have the ability to show much as the desktop has 6 inches of cord to play with. So I begin to move the desktop and was told i wasnt getting a good enough angle. I needed to do better or we would have to reschedule. Attempting again and this time the cord comes unplugged.....thats it proctor disconnected. The directions specifically stated if there is interference with the browser just restart the browser and log back in to connect and the test can resume. So tell me why the proctor disconnects when the electricity is disconnect? I reconnected the AC to the desktop and the proctor had hung up. Just fine and dandy, Im thoroughly annoyed with this company now. I immediately call into tech support and they document the situation but cant help reconnect to a proctor to take the test (by the way I never was able to get started, as the proctor took 40 minutes of delayed responding during the chat and nit picking product that was 3 foot out of my reach and having to swivel my head like Linda Blair to look at it in an attempt to cheat). They tell me I need to reschedule a test date. 180 minutes later and I havent taken a test or been allowed to reschedule.
This system is terrible. They lost connection during the test and forced me to restart it. Then at one point the proctor lost the screen share and apparently there isn't a simple way to start screen sharing again without going through their technical support. Their technical support is also terrible. Ajay, wanted me to verify my information and install anydesk so they could do a remote access just for a screen share issue. After waiting 20+ minutes for their "Tech Support" to do anything I diagnosed and resolved the issue myself in less than 5 minutes. I have used a handful of different proctor systems throughout my college and work career and this is hands down the worst all the way around. Must be super cheap and the sole reason companies select them.
Bad sistem, I lost my exam, was really bad
It take me about 30 minutes to check in but system error and have to wait for customer support on phone.
HORRIBLE...I am still on the phone with tech support. When scanning the room the screen froze...tried 3 times...Wished I had known how lousy their set up was, I would have found a testing center. Ridiculous...not able to take my exam now. Rescheduling...hoping will work on my next scheduled date!
