High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

The only problem I can find with it is that it sets all pages to inverted when you first visit them, which can be very disorientating for someone unfamiliar with my machines. Apart from that, I'm loving reading news sites and navigating the Ingress intel map with it. Far easier on the eyes.

The main problem is that for the Inverted Color mode all pictures are affected while they should not.
Absolutely amazing! Even inverts image colors. Should contain options for reducing performance hit though. It's no problem on my desktop, but I can imagine this extension choking my laptop.
Needed color inversion for no reason and this is perfect.
It would be perfect if there would be an option to invert the colors and than invert the hue again, so the colors would be inverted, but the luminance would.
No interaction with system high contrast setting. High contrast everything, even those which are not supposed to be high contrasted, e.g. picture. Only provide Inverted color and the like. No text or background high contrast. Green vs. black, or yellow vs black, etc.
This is great - no more glaringly white Google pages! However, as many have noted, it does seem to screw with the brightness of images when enabled, washing many out beyond recognition. This struck me most on Facebook.
I've been waiting for someone to make a little app like this since forever. Thank you!
Only problem with this is that as it replaces the color with it's contrast color. So in websites containing Dark color in background gets it's background color white and bright, which is opposite to it's purpose.
