Version 1.2.0 adds dark mode support.
Version 1.3.0's only change is to use manifest_version 3. For this extension, this does not affect behavior at all. The change is required to keep the extension listed in Chrome Web Store.

I love this app and have been using it so long I forget it's there until I need to open the new tab page for some reason (like to access a Chrome app). Is it possible to add an option or shortcut that will let us see the new tab page when explicitly called for?
Should be an option,but is good! It is weird having no title.only use when you're like "Don't see the recently closed tabs" :P
Very clean. For ages I had been using about:blank as my specific startup page. With this extension I now select "Open the New Tab page" as my startup page and it is delightfully empty.

Generally a wonderful addition to chrome, but seems to be failing after I installed windows 8. Not sure how related that is or not, but it seems to function fine on all other operating systems.
I was okay with the default new tab page until the recent changes, especially the animation that can't be disabled. This extension is a godsend--thank you!

Re: Recent thumbnails reappearing when typing in omnibox in blank new tab page. Going into Chrome/Settings/Search and un-checking Enable Instant for faster searching may prevent this. Running Chrome Version 28.0.1500.37 beta-m
****I wanted to edit this review to note that the problem seems to be in chrome and not with this extension. I got a very good response from the developer and he passed the issue along and there are several people looking into it. So, it is doing its job!*** Previously: I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the issue I'm running into. It opens blank, but as soon as I type in the omnibox, the recent thumbnails appear again. This is not just a preference for me. I cannot have my personal browsing history displayed to my clients while we are working together. Frustrating.
