Version 1.2.0 adds dark mode support.
Version 1.3.0's only change is to use manifest_version 3. For this extension, this does not affect behavior at all. The change is required to keep the extension listed in Chrome Web Store.

Best for me!
Doesn't work on all my chrome installs, which are all inked to have the same extensions/settings. One PC ends up showing a blank white page. Better than seeing the trash that Google puts on the default page, but not as pleasant as the dark gray it should be. Can't find any info on resolving that problem.
It works in normal mode. However, doesn't work in the incognito mode even though the extension is set to enable in the incognito mode.
I still don't know why this needs an extension when it can easily be implemented in the browser itself. But you know what, it works.
Just does what it promises.
Love it, would perhaps suggest adding that the windows dark mode is what controls the dark mode of the extension, looked around for options for 5 min until I came across you explaining it in a comment on a review. Other than that, thanks for creating a simple solution!
too often it just opens the extension's page, chrome-extension://dpjamkmjmigaoobjbekmfgabipmfilij/empty_ntp.html and it keeps losing the stuff I type into omnibox, replacing it with that instead
