Go back with the backspace button! This extension re-enables the backspace key as a back navigation button -- except if you're writing text.

What's New in 3.0:

==================

* Updated to Manifest V3.

Before Chrome 52, the backspace key navigated back (if you weren't writing text). Many people lost their progress while working online by accidentally pressing backspace and leaving a page -- so we removed the feature from Chrome, and created this extension for those who prefer the old behavior.

This extension can't restore backspace on certain special pages, for example any of the "chrome://" pages such as Settings or Extensions.

It works but why the hell is this necessary

Why do i have to install obscure extensions just to get basic functionality back? This is just insulting. Thanks for nothing.

A checkbox in settings or a flag would be much more welcome. I would prefer the previous version without extra permissions. Make permissions optional and simply don't enable the features what require it. For those who decided to remove Backspace from core features: it's not only a standard shortcut in web browsers, but in Windows Explorer and other programs too.

Sounds like a Dilbert decision to get rid of the backspace button function to begin with. Hate that I need an extension to make my browser do something that it was already capable of doing before some wise guy exec decided that he knows best. If your reading this review and you're that exec's exec please get rid of him expediently.

There should be a flag associated with your account--now I need to install an extension to all my machines that run Chrome?! This is retarded.

The extension works, but this 1-star rating is to send a point to the Google Devs. Bake this feature into Chrome itself as an option. Don't make users install an extension that adds bloat just to enable a standard browser function.

Why in the name of God would you remove a feature and make me download an extension to get it back? Seriously how hard would it be to make an option. But no you would rather me increase the overhead of my already RAM hungry browser with a stupid extension that probably won't even sync.
