As a Japanese dictionary, rikaikun helps you look up the only the words you don't know without losing your place. It's also useful for Japanese speakers wanting to know how to say Japanese phrases in English.

Features:

* Using shift or enter, switch between word, names, and Kanji dictionaries.

* Enable text to speech in the options to hear Japanese words you look up spoken out load.

* Press 'c' to copy the current word and definitions to the clipboard for making flash cards.

* Customize how the pop up dictionary looks and what content it shows.

Extremely useful! For someone who has to deal with japanese and isn't native, it is a must have extension. It consumes a fair amount of RAM (about 200MB I think) so it may not be wise to use it in a very old PC. If you don't activate highlight text boxes in rikaikun settings, it may be a little buggy when you try to use it in an input text box. If it doesn't translate, you may have accidentally pressed some shortcut like "D" (it hides translation and leaves only the hiragana pronunciation). Cons: - Doesn't work in some pages. - No font size option. - Very few customization options.

I like it a lot, but like Ola Nordqvist said it is becoming really annoying. My mouse is not even near a word and it just randomly highlights a word. lately i have been turning it off because it will delete my word/sentence. Not sure why, but I don't remember raikachan for firefox doing this. Please correct this issue.

I use it in Chromium for Ubuntu. It works nicely, and it's a very useful dictionary when reading websites in Japanese.
