The ease and simplicity of importing leads and viewing opportunities from Gmail has significantly improved the overall workflow. Kudos to Salesforce and Google for their forward thinking and innovation.
So I've had salesforce in-box extension on gmail for almost a year. The new version has some issues. 1) it used to 'automatically' log or popup a log message box for emails, now you have to do it manually, an added step and pia. 2) you have to have salesforce open in another tab for it to login to salesforce, otherwise it won't connect - even more of a pia. Fix please!
Terrific upgrade BUT missing some of the key functionality that Salesforce Inbox extension had which included email tracking, scheduling https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/salesforce-inbox/cnkgdfnjmgamkcpjdljdncfjcegpgcdg/related?hl=en-US These two extensions are incompatible... Can you please merge the features and make this the best integration!
This seems promising, but I can't add an Opportunity via the extension because only the first 5 fields of that object load and I have many more I need to fill out.
I've only been using this for a couple weeks and so far am quite pleased at the level of integration it offers to SF. I am an admin and am testing it for our admissions team. So far, so good!

Cette extension Salesforce-Gmail est très pertinente. J'en bénéficie. Mais d'autres bénévoles dans l'organisation GSuite de mon association, ayant accès à la fois à GSuite et à Salesforce, n'arrivent pas à bénéficier des mêmes facilités. Je n'arrive pas à savoir pourquoi.
It works! I send emails from about seven email addresses. For that reason I can't send emails from Salesforce. Unfortunately I have to do this extra step, of logging emails that I send or receive, but with minimal effort I can do it. It is just as easy as logging Office365 emails.
