Great Extension! The perfect companion to Google Voice and one of the reasons I use the Chrome browser! One feature suggestion: - Ability to ADD Contact (from an unknown phone number) right from the extension.
This extension needs to be updated to work with the new Hangouts extension in Chrome. Right now 'Google Talk' is the only computer call-phone option available from click-to-call links, and this plugin is being phased out. Please Google, update this and add 'Hangouts' to the list of available phones to call from!
The icon also only refreshes when you refresh a page and has been that way for several months now.
Sometimes when I am placing a call and I choose Google Talk, I do not get the incoming call on Gmail. It seems to be an issue resulting from when I am "Away" on Gmail.
I decided to try this extension again and this time it's working fine. I guess they've fixed the issue and I hope it keeps working.
Everything's working again. I missed this extension horribly while it was broken.
This extension is amazing. For someone who spends the day at their desk, I cannot live without this app both for its texting and click to call capabilities. Google Voice as a whole has changed the way I connect with others. I have a jailbroken iPhone with a couple of tweaks that allow me to have my phone treat Google texts and calls natively. Its now my primary number. The extension and service have dramatically improved over the years and is the main reason I use Google Chrome now.
So broken
I use it ALL the time, but it could still use a lot of work. A lot of annoying problems with it.
This is essential if you use Google Voice. I interact with most of my texts through this extension instead of my phone. I agree with Scott Canon. "It'd be nice to be able to tab from the address function to the text window to the send button." it did used to do that
