NewsGuard's reliability ratings for news and information sources help users make decisions about which news sources to trust—and avoid misinformation and disinformation.
Our ratings, scores, and Nutrition Labels for websites are displayed next to links on search engines and social media platforms and cover all the news websites accounting for 95% of online engagement.
Ratings are conducted by a team of experienced journalists using nine basic, apolitical journalistic criteria. Each site receives a trust score of 0-100, an overall rating level ranging from “High Credibility” to “Proceed with Caution,” and a thorough Nutrition Label report detailing the site’s ownership and financing, content, credibility practices, transparency practices, and history.

I installed it, checked CNN, and immediately uninstalled it when it graded CNN as "Does not repeatedly publish false content", after they pushed the Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy for over 2 years and to this day have not retracted any of it and are still pushing it. They also repeat any and every lie about Trump, no matter how insane. They also rated CNN as "Regularly corrects or clarifies errors". <-- See prior text. Also rated CNN positive for "Handles the difference between news and opinion responsibly", which is beyond laughable for CNN. I'll have to find one that's not afraid to grade on reality and not on political opinion.
Fairly accurate and unbiased extension. I would say I agree with most of their ratings and disagree with a few but overall they seem to objectively rate websites.
This would be useful if i was able to rank my own websites. So for example if a News site continuously published the Fake Trump/Russia collusion conspiracy when it looks like they knew the story to be fake news, even getting Pulitzer Prize (like NYT and WaPo), I could derank them, A plug in like this could be useful. Better yet if it informed google how to rank my searches based on my news assessment.
Removing this joke of a tool. They give straight up liars authoring woke trash like Vox a green checkmark! Bye Bye Newsguard.
I want to report a bug. This App obviously not working properly. CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, they are all green lite. I will not reinstall until this is fix. Thank you!

It's a propaganda tool. Obviously the developers were quite biased.
Really biased against RT and Sputnik.
This is an okay extension and NEEDS WORK on being unbiased. Various Independent and right leaning/wing websites either don't have a rating or show up as "Proceed with caution" while known left wing or far left websites generally get a pass with a green check. MSNBC, New York Times and CNN with a full clean pass? Come on now.. Sites such as Vox, Slate, Polygon, Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun and Eurogamer DO NOT DESERVE a green check for "Handles the differences between news and opinion responsibly" and "Avoids deceptive headlines" as they are known for clickbait journalism.
