AI product readSecure locked-down browser environment for taking PSI online proctored exams
Enables secure, monitored online exam delivery by restricting browser capabilities (tab creation, window creation, extension enabling), capturing desktop/webcam/microphone, and providing real-time proctor communication during test sessions
User installs the extension, then launches a PSI proctored exam session. The extension activates a secure check-in flow: (1) system hardware/software check, (2) identity verification with ID photo, (3) agreements acceptance, (4) camera/microphone permission, (5) start test. During the exam, the extension locks down the browser (no new tabs/windows/extensions), streams webcam/screen to proctor, provides live chat with proctor, and supports break requests. After exam completion, the extension auto-closes.

- Target users
- Test-takers using PSI's online proctored examination platform / Candidates for professional certification exams, licensure tests, and other remotely proctored assessments
- The background worker and UI JS files are heavily minified, limiting ability to trace exact authentication flow logic
- Cannot fully determine if the OAuth2 flow authenticates the test-taker directly or uses service-to-service tokens after the user authenticates on PSI's website
- The externally_connectable localhost:50161 pattern suggests integration with a local PSI application, but the local app's role is unclear
MonetizationNo paid features detected
No evidence of paid features, subscriptions, premium tiers, or in-app purchases within the extension. All keyword hits for 'checkout' refer to exam completion (e.g., 'This test is completed. PSI Chrome Extension will auto-close in {{countdown}}'), not e-commerce payments. All 'pro' matches are fragments of 'proctor' terminology. No billing, Stripe, payment platform, upgrade, or premium feature references found anywhere in the source. PSI's exam scheduling is a separate business service, not gated within this extension.

- Reason
- The extension requires users to have a scheduled exam through PSI's platform. It communicates with PSI's OAuth2 authentication endpoints (hydra.bridge.psiexams.com/oauth2/auth, /oauth2/token) and auth token services (mps.bridge.psiexams.com/api/auth/token). The check-in flow includes identity verification (ID confirmation, photo match, reservation match). The extension itself has no login UI; authentication occurs on PSI's exam platform, and the extension operates as a secured proctoring environment once the exam session is initiated.
The test was nothing like what I studied. It was very stressful and there was no calculator to use. It was a stressful experience to me and the proctor was just doing her job.
I agree with others who have said the proctors were inappropriate and simply, "doing too much." It felt like they enjoyed having me at their mercy to do whatever they said. They made me remove an electric pencil sharpener and paper clip holder from my desk. Then they made me CLEAR OFF AN ADJACENT BOOKSELF so there was nothing next to my desk. I showed my room three times, ceiling to floor. I tested my pen on my scratch paper with a scribble, and they made me get new paper. At the end, I unfortunately had to chat with them again to ask how to end the exam because instructions were not clear. They asked me to show them my scratch paper--it was completely blank. Then they asked me to rip it up into pieces. This is the part that I felt was unreasonable, overboard, and an abuse of their position. Why are you asking me to rip up blank pieces of paper? To perform for you? Before ripping up the paper, I glanced at the ceiling and they sent me a warning that I was looking elsewhere. This was absolutely disgusting behavior by the proctor.
Proctors simply do TOO MUCH.
Very easy to understand and complete and exam. I was pleased with everything even with the room examination which isn’t at all how others are saying nothing more than the room you’re in and thats all.
The proctors are really inappropriate and spend a lot of time before your exam invading your privacy and making you do crazy things like go into other rooms of your house and lift up your blankets etc. It felt like they were antagonizing me and giving me a hard time on purpose. It probably took half an hour of showing every inch of my home before they were satisfied. Never again.
I was told in the instructions before taking the test that they would be providing a calculator built into the test and personal calculators are not allowed. That was completely false. During my exam i asked for help on where to find the "built in calculator", then told me that calculators are not allowed. Completely misleading and frustrating.
At first I got nervous of all the help area explained to do. I didn't want to make any mistakes so I just kept going. The preview questions started repeating what I had finished My proctor informed me to press leave, which made the test visible Over all it was a good system of help. It warned me of mumbling I stopped immediately after that smooth sailing. Thank you
this was terrible and i disliked it so kmuch. I was not talking to myself I was barely moving my lips and frnakly the warning stressed me out. Also I got kicked out half way through and had to call tech support to finish.
Extremely difficult to use platform. The warnings for "talking" when I was barely moving my lips while reading got me very on edge. I also had a warning not to click on other programs, which I did not do. It was very distracting and made it hard to concentrate on the exam.
The questions asked here are not the most common ones typically encountered in educational settings. I believe the practice questions should be more aligned with the material taught in academic institutions. This is my second attempt, and I still don't see them reflecting the same ideas or concepts. You really ought to improve this. Thank you.
