The Microsoft Defender Browser Protection extension helps protect you against online threats, such as links in phishing emails and websites designed to trick you into downloading and installing malicious software that can harm your computer.
If you click a malicious link in an email or navigate to a site designed to trick you into disclosing financial, personal or other sensitive information, or a website that hosts malware, Microsoft Defender Browser Protection will check it against a constantly updated list of malicious URLs known to Microsoft.
If the malicious link matches one on the list, Microsoft Defender Browser Protection will show a red warning screen letting you know that the web page you are about to visit is known to be harmful, giving you a clear path back to safety with one click.

Очень редко блокирует какие-либо сайты, а недавно это расширение стало блокировать всем известный официальный сайт Telegramm`а (https://web.telegram.org/z/)
Boa extensão. Porém esta bloqueando sites conhecidos e válidos. Fiz uma pesquisa no Google e apareceu mensagem de "site perigoso", entrei na Amazon e apareceu a mesma mensagem. Algo está errado com essa extensão!

I had a brain fart when I installed this extension then removed it after realizing MSFT has a horrible decades long record of preventing any kind of virus.
Didn't actually even stop their "demo" page so its not clear it would stop an actual malicious site
Looking at the browser's task manager, memory usage is low immediately after startup, but more than doubles after half a day of use. I have a feeling this is a problem with the extension, because there are extensions that do not increase memory usage.
He hecho algunos test con esta extensión. Me ha protegido de algunos ataques, pero otros los deja pasar. He contrastado con la extensión de MalwareBytes y la verdad es que esta última ha bloqueado todo correctamente. Pudiendo instalar ambas gratuitamente os recomiendo esta última. Esto es en 2022, veremos si WD sigue mejorando, lleva una buena línea para estar prestando un servicio gratuito de antivirus.
