High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

Good idea but: 1 It gives an annoying white flash before inverting when loading a page 2 Prints a black background.

I was having the hardest time see roads in google maps, and finding cells that have been highlighted in google docs. I hope its a settings on my computer that I haven't found yet, but this at least made Google Maps and Docs useable again. It is a little too high contrast, but it works and now I can work again. Yay
Junk. Does the job it is supposed to do, I guess, but caused problems loading lots of other webpages. Twitter is where I noticed it first, failing to update the TL beyond about 20 tweets. Also crashing random sites, even just Google search homepage. Uninstalled it, everything works fine again.
This addon overrides element positioning for popups which are created using JQuery and Foundation css. Our mid-sized popup was shoved below the bottom of the page when high contrast was enabled.
Best Extension Ever
Less retina burn in but yikes...watch out printing from Google Docs - the Inverted Color setting may result in a lot of toner usage.

I have loved using this extension, but now it has started reverting the pages to normal. It seems to be when the page is nearly loaded. It will start out initially on Inverted Color, but then take the Inverted Color away. If I reload the page, the Inverted Color stays. I have seen this on Windows 7 & 10. If nothing has changed in the last few weeks, then there must have been a change to Chrome that is breaking it. Please fix! Thank you!
