High Contrast lets you browse the web with your choice of several high-contrast color filters designed to make it easier to read text.
When you install this extension, all pages are "inverted", so black becomes white and white becomes black. Press the "browser action" icon in the toolbar to toggle it on and off, or customize your settings on a per-site basis. Use a convenient keyboard shortcut to quickly change your settings while your browse.
Other extensions try to change the default colors, but this ends up breaking many popular websites. Only this extension applies filters to your page that invert almost everything - the only exception is photos, which are left alone.
Also note that the Chrome web store and other built-in pages like the New Tab page and Settings pages are unaffected - extensions like this one are not allowed to modify them, by design.

wont over ride websit settings even when i select ignore default. what am i doing wrong...h e l p

Good application for eye-relaxing browsing. I have been using this for 3 months now. Alas, there is no setting for "inverted html colors and normal images". The best mode IMO is "inverted html colors and images with high contrast", which makes most images useless or even eye-exhausting, because they appear mostly white. Plus, there is some kind of bug that only updates the current tab with inverted colors if the website is reloaded, after enabling this extension.

it's otherwise great and there might be complaints about funny-looking images on pages when colour inversion is enabled, but such is to be expected from inverting colours, especially when an image has a separate background from the rest of the page. the only problem i have with it is that every time i open a new tab, chrome crashes. as a result, any time i need to open a new tab i have to disable it and then re-enable it. please fix this asap. otherwise, i find this to be a very helpful extension, because i do a lot of reading on the screen and the colour inversion makes it immensely more bearable.
Good for inverting colors but creates a horizontal scroll bar on the bottom of pages which is annoying because you can scroll to the right off the page into miles of blank area.. Fix that bug and I will give it 5 stars.
its cool, my eyes water from looking at the screen but not with High Contrast.
I like the contrast - works really well, but it blocks me from opening up my yahoo email and I'm a little suspicious that it's able to access and change data on all the websites I visit.
