Downloads Router is a tiny extension that helps you avoid cleaning the dreaded "Downloads" folder by automatically saving files in the right places.
Downloads Router springs into action whenever you start downloading a file. It looks at the filename, filetype, or origin domain (source website) of the item, and matches this information against rules that you define on the extension's Options page. Should a matching rule exist, a "suggestion" is sent to the browser, indicating where it should save the file; this suggestion may however be overridden, as for instance when you use the "Save As..." feature.

I absolutely adore this extension. Took a bit of effort to thoroughly set it up, but it was worth it. Keeps my Downloads folder organized with zero effort. Tip: Using .*\.xxx in the "Filename -> folder mapping" section works better for some extensions than the "Filetype -> folder mapping" section does. Use both to maximize functionality.
Works like butter! Thanks!
Works great!! 4 stars because it took me a couple of tries to get it right. Instructions in more layman terms would be helpful. But I did get it to work! It will save me a lot of time.
That's what I've been searching for long time
Doesn't seem to be working anymore, everything just goes to directory "undefined".
нельзя добавить папки путём выбора! и прочее
Works really well.. just installed it today, set up the symbolic link, added a keyword match & I was off! It routed the download to the correct file without much messing. Thank you!
No longer working. Also, looks like it's no longer supported by developer. Icon is grayed out. Everything just goes in the downloads folder. Rules don't do anything.
