On the marketing video, i infered that you have access to a limited amount of videos WITHIN the LingoPie website. Once you actually click on the thumbnails however, it becomes clear that you need another subscription just for the few limited selected one that work with the lingo platform. I would totaly assume netflix would give these for free as a promotional offer. Also there is NO month to month offer - the small print says 3 months, also there is no easy unsubscribe button if you were disappoint early on. you have to write the support an email.. so be careful!
Me encanta, es todo lo que uno necesita para aprender un idioma. Quizás solo le agregaría noticias o charlas famosas.
Works quite well, wish they would have Breaking bad though.
After selecting a 3-month subscription and having the charge pre-authorized for that period, my subscription was "magically" switched to a 1-year plan, and I was charged for 12 months instead. This seems fraudulent - be cautious before subscribing! Updated: the issue was resolved after contacting CS
Is there a way to integrate this with something that fits my needs more than netflix? Like Crunchyroll? I'm learning japanese and while i love the extension/app, i feel like the netflix select is very very limited in terms of shows to watch. I wish the extension was able to be loaded on top of any crunchyroll page for example, and the subtitles for these shows can always be pulled from somewhere. You won't need to license the entire anime or shows, you would just act as user interface or augmented interface actually to have everything that you are using be loaded on top netflix/crunchyroll etc... I know not ALL features of lingopie can show up in all pages, but at the very least have the ability to added double subtitles (english + hiragana for example) and then ability to pause at a specific moment and hover over a word to show what it means (if not dual-subtitling). I think the app has a lot more potential for that "overlay" design for simple functionalities and still keep the "complex" functionalities on the main lingopie page for "Select" shows.
I initially tried out LingoPie's trial to learn French through Netflix shows, and I found it incredibly useful. Consequently, I decided to become an annual subscriber. However, I've encountered a persistent issue while attempting to watch Netflix shows with the LingoPie extension. Every time I try to access French content, I receive error messages from Netflix. Interestingly, when I attempt to watch non-French shows that aren't connected to LingoPie, Netflix functions perfectly. This indicates that Netflix doesn't fully support the LingoPie extension. Could you please provide guidance on resolving this issue? Now that I have paid and became a subscriber , I cannot benefit from LingoPie! Very upsetting!
I love the idea of this app and I think it could really help you improve your language skills especially if you are at the intermediate level. However, and this is a BIG however, the app is extremely glitchy. I constantly am having issues regardless of whether I use my Google Pixel phone, tablet or try to cast to my brand new LG TV. NOTHING works as it should. I even bought a chromecast for my new TV and I am still having issues. I was able to cast but the quality of the videos was poor and it showed but English and Spanish subtitles even though I chose only the Spanish ones. I have probably spent at least 15 hours trying to figure this all out but to no avail. So frustrating because I do think this has potential.
It makes learning fun and interactive. Making a wordlist has never been easier and you already see the words in context. This all really helps with learning a new language. I'm so glad to have stumbled on this extention and would recommend it to anyone who is learning a new language! Very well done Lingopie!!
This is wonderful tool for learning languages. Make sure it has the language you are looking for first, but if it does I couldn't recommend it more. I am using it to help with French. It is has been a huge relief to find something that can fit the level of learning I am in.
Tired of learning random vocabulary you will never hear in context or practice phrases that nobody uses, then try this! The grammar insight is an absolute bonus. I love the fact that there is no overwhelming UI with things popping up and notifications to earn fake points that does nothing but add to the tech noise in our lives. It works, I love it, well done!
