NewsGuard's reliability ratings for news and information sources help users make decisions about which news sources to trust—and avoid misinformation and disinformation.
Our ratings, scores, and Nutrition Labels for websites are displayed next to links on search engines and social media platforms and cover all the news websites accounting for 95% of online engagement.
Ratings are conducted by a team of experienced journalists using nine basic, apolitical journalistic criteria. Each site receives a trust score of 0-100, an overall rating level ranging from “High Credibility” to “Proceed with Caution,” and a thorough Nutrition Label report detailing the site’s ownership and financing, content, credibility practices, transparency practices, and history.

Its okay for some websites, terrible for others. Gossip and opinion "news" sites are mostly rated as credible, given complete checkmarks for all their categories while in the detailed descriptions they give contradictory comments that make it sounds not credible. And not perfect but more legit news sites are given a "not credible" rating and even there they contradict themselves. Giving one rating (not publishing fake news for instance) then in the comments saying they publish fake news...
Seems to come from a biased point of view as many sites are green that have shady news and its just propaganda.
Hilft dabei, Fakenews auszusondern. Hilfreich!
Excellent, evidence-based, does not appear biased.
I find it to be accurate in most cases. I especially like the Nutrition Labels; I appreciate seeing the reasons behind the final score. In most cases I agree with them. The reason that the app seems to be liberal-biased has more to do with how factual and honest a website is, many of the right-wing websites fail on either or both accounts. The only downside is the lack of feedback. I think that the feedback process should not be trivial; make us jump through some hoops, that will help to weed out the people who "have feelings" rather than people with supportable opinions.
It just marks all the major outlets as 'reliable news providers'
Thank you for providing an extension that attempts to rate websites based on how responsible the news editors act, how transparent they are with their funding sources, etc. I look forward to future improvements, as well, including a version for the Duck Duck Go mobile app.
Alles was nicht ins westliche Narritiv passt wird schlecht bewertet. Also nichts als Propaganda
Fake :)
Super useful!
